By first supporting the local community, Awaken Portland provides a bridge between practitioner, the spiritual seeker, and the places where we come together; the temple, practice center, work, or the internet. Our center downtown or our web presence aims to provide an easily accessible resource for all Portland Buddhist groups.
Our innovative webcast programs provide an entertaining glimpse of what occurred recently and what to expect when you go to a local event or class. We present, interview and discuss with various teachers and practitioners, go to their centers, express their dhamma (Pali)/dharma (Sanskrit) and document for the world-wide web audience what Portland has to offer this realm.
We also provide full monastic support ; the four requisites food, clothing, shelter, medicine, and spiritual services to the Buddhist community, including meditation classes and resources, retreat guidance, counseling, ceremonies, refuges and precepts.

Oh, and do you want me to update the calendar? I can, you know, especially on the sidebar here. Will get to it as soon as possible (could you help me so I do not have to keep looking at the old stuff?) I think it just takes a moment to change the status to expired on those dates, but who checks.
